Du Plessis, Amla and Pretorious Stars in South Africa's Easy Win over Sri-Lanka.

Durham hosting the first match of this event between the inconsistent Srilanka and South africa who were looking for their second win of the event.This was the Must win game for Srilanka to stay alive for the race of top four virtually.  South Africa who won their first toss of this tournament put srilanka to bat first on a hard wicket. This decision of faf du plessis proved very much right by kagiso rabada who dismissed karunaratne of the first ball of match. After that all sri lankan batsmen contributed equally with 30s and 20s as no batsman went to make a big score. Sri lanka lost wickets on regular intervals as south africa restrict them to 203 in 49.3 overs setting an easy target to chase for Proteas. South africa who are already out of this event showed some pride by superb feiding and bowling to shaken the sri lankan innings. Vishwa Fernando and kusal Perera were the joint top scorers with 30 runs each. For South Africa's Dwaine pretorious was the star with bowl taking up 3-25 and chris morris provided a great support to him with a figures of 3-46. In Reply South Africa lost De kock early on a lethal yorker of lasith malinga at a score of 31. After that hashim amla and Faf du plessis ensured south africa didn't suffer much of a damage in this chase and chased the target easily in 38 overs. Faf du plessis scored his third half century of the event and remained not on 96. Both amla and du plessis shared a 175 run stand for the second wicket to secure a nine wicket win with 12.4 overs to spare.  This was south Africa's second win of this event after they won against Afghanistan.
Now both teams are out of semi final race.
